Tonight’s Entertainment

We are going to see the Nashville Predators play the Detroit Red Wings tonight. WooHoo! Bob just emailed me that he got these tickets through his work.

What’s great about these tickets is that they are in the lower bowl. What’s even better about these tickets is that they are FREE. I love Bob’s company. He works with a great group of people. Even better is the fact that the owner of his company is one of the local businessmen who purchased the Predators a few years back so when they need to fill the seats, he gives away tickets. Everyone there knows Bob and I LOVE to go to the games, so they always ask Bob if we want to go. We may have turned them down once, but I can’t guarantee that. =)

This will make our fourth game so far this season and each game has been free. We have to pay for our concessions, but the admission is free. Stop at a drive thru on the way to the game and it’s a pretty cheap date. Always glad I can help Bob out with that. =)

Team EMMETT

We saw New Moon last night. Bob liked it MUCH better than Twilight. He has NOT read the series, he’s only going by the movies themselves. New Moon was really good. If you haven’t seen it yet, I will not spoil anything. I was surprised that Bob even bought tickets for us to see the movie the very first weekend. We NEVER see any movie the first weekend it’s out and it’s been quite a few months since we’ve even gone to a movie theater.

One thing I’ll say about the movie and it is actually more about the crowd. When Jacob takes off his shirt for the very first time, you could hear a lot of females in the audience show their appreciation. Some sucked in their breaths while others “oohh’d” and “ahhhh’d”. It was hilarious! Bob and I both laughed out loud and so did others in the theater. When Edward took his shirt off, there was not one sound made. I don’t know if it was because no one was impressed or because they were sensitized by having all the Queletes exposed chests throughout the movie.

Just another reason that I am Team Emmett – I loved his reaction when Bella asked for a vote to become part of the Cullen family. =) He’s the PERFECT older brother. You know he’d bug the snot out of you, but you would also know he loves you and would protect you against anything. Yep, I’m Team EMMETT all the way.

I plan on seeing this movie again on my birthday. I may even see it the day before my birthday (I should have both days off work unless they’ve messed up my time again. I won’t know for sure until the first of Dec.).

Have you seen New Moon  yet? Do you plan on seeing New Moon?

Back to Normal

I woke up this morning feeling better than I have in the entire month since having bronchitis. Maybe my body just needed extra rest and since I stayed home from work yesterday, my body got exactly what it needed. I’ve been living on chicken noodle soup, OJ, and lots of rest. Life is good again. I’m not 100% back to normal, but I’m at least 90% and that feels GREAT.

Today we will be seeing New Moon. Bob bought the tickets two weeks ago. I figured I’d end up seeing it the first time on my birthday by myself, so it was a nice surprise to have Bob purchase the tickets for this weekend. We NEVER see a movie the first week it’s out, so this is a real treat. He also got a few coupons for TGIFridays so we will be going there for dinner after the show. I’ve been looking forward to this night for two weeks.

Have you seen New Moon? Have you read the Twilight series? Who’s your favorite vampire or werewolf? My favorite is Emmett – he’s like the big brother any girl would love to have – irritating AND loving. It’s the perfect combination. =)

Still Sick

I’m still sick today. I’m even home from work. My stuffiness is killing me and the body aches will NOT go away. Heard a home remedy from Harvard Housewife I’m going to have to try. I’ve got to get better before New Moon tomorrow night. =) I’m not one to go crazy over shows or celebrities. I didn’t even purchase these tickets. I wasn’t expecting to see the movie until my birthday (Dec. 15) but Bob surprised me by buying the tickets two weeks ago and I am looking forward to it. I just want to feel good while I’m watching it.

Even the calendar says W T F

Well, I’ve been trying to get into the habit of posting every day and I decided I would start with this new blog. I’ve been sick all day today and nothing fun, exciting, or even upsetting happened.

I went to work, had a very busy day and came home. Actually a funny thing did happen while I was at work. My boss (the one I love) sent me an email that stated “After Monday and Tuesday, even the calendar says W T F”

I thought that was hilarious. Before Bob left the office, I talked to him on the phone and he heard me say the OJ was bad. On his way home, since he knew I wasn’t feeling good, he stopped at the grocery store and bought more OJ. Wasn’t that sweet of him? I thought so.

It’s about 6:30 and I am really thinking about going to bed and calling this day over. Tomorrow is going to be just as busy as today. I’m not looking forward to it, but it also isn’t upsetting in any way.

Have a great night.

Wordless Wednesday

Christmas Spirit

For some strange reason, I have gotten into the Christmas spirit this year. I say this is strange because I haven’t had the Christmas spirit for about 10 years. We haven’t put up a tree, we haven’t decorated the house, and half of those years, I didn’t even put my wreath on the door. This year (last night actually) we bought an artificial tree (pre-lit). We also bought a few ornaments to put on the tree (red, white, and silver). I’m really looking forward to it. I’ve already told Bob where I would like the tree to go.

We’ll probably put up the tree on Dec. 5. I have lunch with an old friend that day, but other than that, the day is free. As a matter of fact, while I’m at lunch, Bob can move the two chairs and table that are currently in the location where the tree will be.

The majority of our Christmas shopping is complete, too. Yeah, I’m really on the ball this year. We still need to shop for my dad (and his birthday – Nov. 25), my BIL, Kobe (I’m picking his gift up today at lunch), and Bob will be making a website for his dad’s restaurant for his present.

The only difference between this year and all the others is the fact that we have found a church we love. Maybe having my heart changed about church changed more in me than I initially thought. Maybe I needed Christ in Christmas and without church, I felt I was missing that piece. Who knows. What I do know is that I am finally looking forward to Christmas again and it feels GREAT!!!

We are not spending a lot of money on gifts this year. As a matter of fact, I found a great deal on the majority of the gifts we purchased. So far, the only full price we paid was for a Wii game for my brother and his family. All the other gifts were pretty inexpensive – puzzles and computer slot games for Mom and Grandma, makeup bag/purses for MIL and SIL, a girly purse with everything (toy lipstick, phone, credit card, and keys) inside for Kaitlyn, and Kobe will be getting crayons and coloring/activity books. We still have no idea what to get my BIL and my dad will probably be getting fishing gear.

How is your Christmas shopping going?

Without Internet

Today has been a VERY strange day. We were without Internet at the office. You just don’t realize how much your day or work revolves around something until it is gone. The whole office was at a loss and it made for one quiet, boring day.

Bob bought tickets for us to see New Moon on Saturday. I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this already. I am excited about it and can hardly wait.

Tonight, we will probably make a small trek to Wally World to check out the prices of artificial lit trees. I’m looking forward to it. I haven’t been in the Christmas spirit in ages and it feels good to be getting excited about the upcoming season.

We will be going tomorrow to get my title for my car. WooHoo! I can’t wait for that either.
